Overgrown front beds have a way of making an otherwise nice home look neglected. It's not always a big problem - sometimes the bushes just need a proper cut and the beds need a refresh to pull everything back together.

Here's what we were working with: front foundation beds with overgrown shrubs that had lost their shape, plus rubber mulch that was past its prime. Rubber mulch tends to look faded and cheap over time, and it doesn't do much for the soil underneath. We pulled it out and replaced it with fresh natural mulch - dark, rich, and clean. Natural mulch actually breaks down and feeds the soil, so it's a better long-term play for plant health too.

The shrubs got a full trim using a professional-grade hedge trimmer. Getting individual bushes shaped into clean, rounded forms takes a steady hand and a good eye for balance. Each one got attention to make sure the finished bed looked intentional - not just hacked back.

The difference between before and after on a job like this is hard to overstate. Clean mulch, shaped shrubs, and a well-defined bed edge changes the whole feel of a front yard. It's the kind of work that takes a few hours but makes a home look like it's been cared for.

Small landscape updates like this - shrub trimming, mulch swaps, bed cleanup - are some of the highest-value work we do. You don't need a full landscaping overhaul to get a yard that looks sharp. Sometimes you just need the right team to come in and handle the details.
